2011 ASSA ABLOY acquires Cardo and Megadoor becomes part of the division ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems.

2009

The largest single order so far on a Megadoor vertical lifting fabric door was delivered to ADAT, Dubai. Three multiple hangar doors in size 115x26 and 100x26 m (wxh). The MRO hangar is intended for Airbus A380.

The 15,000th door is installed.

2003

Several vertical lifting fabric doors delivered for the Ariane rocket stages at the Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana. Dimensions: 45 meters high by 7 meters wide.

2002

The widest multiple hangar doors so far (145 m wide by 26 m high) to Gameco in Guangzhou, China. The hangar is built for aircraft MRO, including the giant Airbus A380.

2001

The largest order in history as a result of 9/11. A total of 68 doors to be delivered to eight locations in the US. Order value $5.8 million.

2001

The 10,000th door is installed. New customer industries include waste & recycling, automotive and food. There are now installations of Megadoor systems in Europe, North and South America, Middle East and Asia.

1999

Megadoor manufacturing units achieve ISO 9001 certification.

The Swedish manufacturing moves into new, purpose-built production facilities, with 4,000 sq.m. of production space.

Production facilities established at Peachtree City, Georgia, USA.

The 5,000th door is installed. New customer industries include for ex. offshore, concrete and military, with installations in Europe, North and South America and Middle East.

Cardo acquires Utec-porten AB. Vigorous international sales expansion over the next ten years.

The aviation industry becomes an important focus area for the business. Sales lift off, first in the USA and then around the world.

Sales to USA begin with local presence.

Business expands to serve customers in heavy industry, quarrying, mineral processing, shipyard, construction and stevedoring.

A separate company, Utec-porten AB, is established to handle growing Nordic sales.

The 1,000th door is installed. Industries served now include forestry, mining, steelworks and pulp&paper.

The first hangar door solution with multiple door leaves is delivered.

Sales grow, primarily to the Swedish forestry industry.

Utec AB, a specialist in wood-drying kilns based in northern Sweden, develops the first Megadoor vertical lifting fabric door. The goal: an unconventional door opening size with a tight seal, good insulation, and the ability to withstand large temperature differences, chemically aggressive environments and harsh treatment.
